A very funky old folk art painted Tambourine from the 60's or 70's during my
NYC Hippie days. Hung out with a lot of musicians, artists, writers and because
I had no musical talent my then boyfriend gifted me with this so I could feel
like I was a part of his group. The crazy stuff one does when young; found
recently in an unpacked attic box, totally forgot about this item till it
surfaced. The skin is pulled away from one side about 2 1/2" and 4 of the studs
are missing. Wood frame with a brass layer and all the noise makers are in
tack. It measures 9 3/4" in diameter and 2 1/4" deep with a landscape scene
hand painted on the leather. I Do think it is a cool piece and still creates
that terrific jingling sound that was in many of the 60's and 70's records.
